Carpenter Lead Hand

Job summary:

Formwork Foundations, a leading construction company specializing in concrete formwork, is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Hand Carpenter to join our team. As a Lead Hand Carpenter, you will play a critical role in overseeing the construction of foundations and structures, ensuring the highest quality workmanship, adherence to safety regulations, and effective coordination of the carpentry team.

Qualifying candidates must have the following:

– Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Carpenter, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead hand role

– Extensive knowledge and expertise in concrete formwork construction and foundations

– Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, sketches, and construction drawings

– Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively supervise and coordinate the carpentry team

– Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

– Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

– Demonstrated understanding of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment

– Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

– Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions

Duties that you will be required to perform on a day to day basis are:

– Lead and supervise a team of 5 to 10 people, ensuring efficient and productive workflow

– Interpret blueprints, sketches, and construction drawings to plan and execute carpentry tasks

– Construct, erect, install, and repair foundations, concrete structures, and related formwork

– Coordinate with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure seamless construction processes

– Estimate and procure necessary materials, tools, and equipment for each project

– Monitor and enforce safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for the team

– Train and mentor junior carpenters, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills

– Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve any issues or deficiencies in the carpentry work

– Collaborate with project managers to meet project deadlines and budget requirements

– Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including labor, materials used, and progress reports

Schedule:

– 10 hour shift

– 8 hour shift

– Day shift

– Monday to Friday

– Weekends as needed

Supplemental Pay Types:
